Our Methodology

How We Research, Verify, and Fact-Check Our Content

Our Family Travel is committed to providing accurate, up-to-date, and trustworthy information about Disney vacation planning. This page explains exactly how we do that — so you can evaluate our work with full transparency.

Our Research Process

We use a combination of first-hand experience at Disney parks, current and verified pricing data, crowd level analysis, aggregated reviews from verified travelers, and expert interviews. Our recommendation criteria include:

  • Value for families. We evaluate every recommendation through the lens of family value — not just the lowest price, but the best experience for the money spent.
  • Age-appropriateness. What works for a family with toddlers is different from a family with teens. We note age-specific recommendations wherever relevant.
  • Overall experience quality. We aggregate reviews from verified travelers across multiple platforms to assess real guest experiences, not just marketing claims.
  • Practical accessibility. A great recommendation is only useful if it’s practical. We consider booking complexity, cancellation policies, and real-world logistics.

How We Verify Pricing Data

Pricing accuracy is one of the most important trust signals we provide. Here’s how we verify every number we publish:

  1. Primary source verification. We check Disney’s official website, official Disney communications, and direct vendor pricing for every data point.
  2. Quarterly update cycle. All pricing information is reviewed and updated at least once per quarter. When major changes occur (annual pass price changes, new dining plan options), we update immediately.
  3. Direct contact when uncertain. When information may have changed since our last verification, we contact Disney or official sources directly before publishing.
  4. “Last Updated” transparency. Every article displays a prominent “Last Updated” date so you know exactly how fresh the information is.

Our Editorial Workflow

Every article we publish passes through a 7-stage editorial pipeline:

  1. SCOUT Brief. Each article starts with a detailed brief: target keyword, search intent, audience stage, affiliate links, and required data points.
  2. QUILL Draft. A full draft is written following our article standards, minimum 2,000 words, with all required structural elements.
  3. WRIGHT Assembly. The draft is assembled into final HTML with internal links, external links, schema markup, tables, and word count verification.
  4. VERIFY Fact-Check. Every claim is checked against official and primary sources. A fact-check report identifies any discrepancies.
  5. JESSIE Editorial Review. Full editorial review using a comprehensive checklist covering accuracy, structure, SEO, readability, and compliance.
  6. GLM-5 Editorial Review. An independent second review using the same checklist. Both reviewers must sign off before an article advances.
  7. WordPress Draft → Anna Review → Publish. Only after both editorial sign-offs does the article go to our publisher for final review and publication.

No stage can be skipped. If an article hasn’t passed through all 7 stages, it doesn’t exist — it doesn’t get published, period.

Correction Policy

While we aim for error-free content, mistakes will occur from time to time. When they do:

  • We correct errors in a timely manner and note the correction date.
  • We believe that with great power comes great responsibility. We aim to be accountable, accurate, and an authority.
  • Significant corrections are noted at the top of the affected article.
  • If you spot an error, please contact us. We take every correction seriously.
